It is generally well known that opencast mining has an unfavourable impact on the environment of the given locality. Maintenance and reclamation in the post opencast mining are activities oriented to the obliteration and/or mitigation of negative impactof the opencast mining. Current trends are aimed at ensuring the reutilization of devastated landscape by mining companies according to the established legislative rules. Considering that additional expenses are needed for reclamation of landscape the respective mining company is obliged to create such financial reserves during the exploitation of the deposit. Such company is able to create these reserves either on the basic of annually prescribed funds or according to the level of raw mater ial production using the method of specific charge depending on volume of the annual production. Since the financial reserve production and the way of its use is given strictly by law, these financial reserves must not be used for other purposes, i.
