Crystalographic analysis of acircular ferrite and bainite microstructure
Original language description
Acircular ferrite/AF?is known to nucleate at intragranular inclusions. The high toungness of this austenite/A/ decomposition product is attributed to the fine grained interlocking arrangement of fine platesa growing by displacive mechanism.AF is formed inthe same temperature range andby the same transformation type asupper bainite/B/.On the contary to AF,ferrite particles in B are nucleated at A-grain boundaries ond form packets in which the plates have parallel arrangement.
