Original language description

One hundred fifty species of dinoflagellate cysts are reported from Upper Cretaceous samples of claystones from the Godula and Istebna formations of the Silesian unit. Age-assessment of the sediments in question suggests a Late Campanian to probably earliest Maastrichtian age of the middle and upper part of the Godula Formation and a Early Maastrichtian age of the basal part of the Istebna Formation. Palynofacies analysis shows deposition in an offshore marine environment subjected to influxes of terrestrial material.

Czech description

V rámci studia svrchnokřídových jílovců godulského a istebňanského souvrství bylo popsáno 150 druhů dinoflagelát. Na základě stratigrafické interpretace je možno střední část godulského souvrství zařadit do svrchního campanu a spodní část istebňanského souvrství do spodního maastrichtu.
