The contribution deals with the atmospheric pollution by organic compounds in the Most region. It focuses on volatile organic compounds (VOCs), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and evaluates the progress on air pollution in 2004-2008. VOCs play alarge role in the ozone formation. The article demonstrates the claim, that the ozone depends on the nitrogen content in the air and that PAHs can adsorb onto particulate matters (PM). Conclusively, it analyzes major progress in air pollution and currentsituation concerning the forementioned pollutants.
