Geofactors of Rock Workability and Prequarternary Base Type as Significant Marginal Conditions for Future Foundation Engineering

  • Original language description

The presented study aims to contribute to a wider acceptance of natural geological components within the decision-making and information processes of land-use planning in order to use landscape in a more rational and effective way which would respect real, specific geological environment and not only the facts perceivable on the earth surface, such as the type of landscape elements. This environment has its natural connections and characteristics, permits a number of possibilities in terms of its utilization but at the same time limits it, for example, in the future foundation engineering methods, etc. Its knowledge is thus advantageous and it is important to realize that its application as one of input conditions for land-use planning is very necessary. The study focuses on two selected geofactors of geological environment which are workability of rocks and the character and depth of the Prequaternary bedrock. The research took place in a selected part of Ostrava, important city agglo
