The article deals with the issues of employee advantages, so-called benefits that influence the motivation of workers. Thus they participate not only in the creation of a precondition for company competitiveness but also in the correct running of a company and/or return on investment into employees. In relation to the given questions, selected motivation theories and results of some sociological surveys connected with these problems are characterised briefly in the article as well. The focus of the article is research into employee advantages in the Ostrava region. The authors of the article paid particular attention to what advantages are provided to employees most frequently at present and how these advantages are perceived by employees themselves.
