    RFID Technology in Mining Industry

  • Original language description

This article is focused on the use of RFID technology in non-traditional areas such as raw material industry. It contains a brief description of the current state of RFID technology and its application possibilities in raw material industry. One important option is the use of RFID tags for marking head lamps that each miner must wear at any time. With appropriate distribution of reading gateways, the production supervisor can get better overview of the location of miners in the complex network of underground tunnels in comparison to existing solutions. Such a survey can be used both for the management of operational processes, but especially for the monitoring of miners movement in the case of mining accident. The entire location monitoring system based on RFID ID in 'head lamps' has many other applications. Such a solution can create a core of an intelligent security management system for miners.
