Study of chemical and electromembrane processes for treatment of mine water
Original language description
In this study, the possibility of using chemical and electromembrane processes for the treatment of mine water generated from coal mining is investigated. Attention was focused on two area of mining. First sample of mine water was from Jeremenko water pit complex (DIAMO s.p., ODRA Ostrava branch, Czech Republic). The mine water falls in the category of concentrated brackish water of a natrium-chloride type. Mine water from this area is quite hard. This mine water also contain very high amount of dissolved solids and hence become corrosive particularly due to chloride contents. Second sample of mine water was from the locality ČSA and JŠ (North Bohemia, Czech Republic). Current research was focused on two separation methods. The first one is through precipitation of sulphates as an insoluble salts. Another area of research is focused on application of membrane processes to separation of sulphates, chlorides and dissolved solids.
