Interaction of silicon and nickel in composed Ni - NixSiy couples at high temperatures
Original language description
Matano - Boltzmann method is almost exclusively used for the diffusivity calculation; the method is universal, mathematically exact and enables to assess the diffusivity concentration dependence. Wagner expressed the concentration course for the movinginterphase boundary diffusion and derived relations for various diffusion processes on the basis of material balance on the phase boundary. The solution of diffusion equation with moving interphase boundaries can be solved by means of thermal potentials ,which is a special mathematical system of partial differential equations of parabolic type. The aim of our work was to investigate the behaviour of the system intermetallic compound (nickel silicide) - metal base (nickel) in order to find mutual interactions of these coupled materials and to evaluate their stability in certain temperature and time regimes, to assess diffusion characteristics of the coupled materials and to follow the mass transport on the interphase boundary region.
