    The Hydrogen Embrittlement of C-Mn Steels

  • Original language description

    Evaluation of susceptibility of C-Mn steels to hydrogen embrittlement were studied in this paper. Tensile tests performed on previously electrolytically charged specimens were used in this work. The specimens were taken in three decisive directions regarding to the plate rolling, i.e. in longitudinal and transversal directions as well as in through-thickness direction. It was found out that the level of hydrogen embrittlement (HE) displays expressive anisotropy and HE is increasing from longitudinal direction through transversal direction. Using stereomicroscope or scanning electron the microscope fish eyes can be observed on fracture areas of specimen after hydrogen electrolytical charging and tensile testing with low-speed deformation.
