Now independent institute VÍTKOVICE, Research and Development. s. r. o., formely creating a part of the company Vitkovice, has almost 60 years´ tradition, and in a branch of forming research has already been existing for almost 50 years. From wide interests in forming research is necessary to mention research work oriented on the cold rolling of strips. The main area of research is located in plastometric research of hot forming. On different examples are documented the possibilities of universal plastometer SETARAM - VÍTKOVICE. This equipment may realize tests with strain by full torsion, torsion with additional axial tensile stress and with full axial tensile stress in eminently wide range of temperatures. In chapter are remember all three basic torsion tests: uninterrupted torsion test, anisothermal interrupted torsion tests and physical simulations of rolling by plastometer.
