The influence of oxygen content in the Ti-48Al-2Cr-2Nb (at. %) alloy on its plastic workability has been studied. The alloy molten in different ceramic crucibles was subjected to hot compression on a Gleeble 3800 system simulator. It has been found thatonly alloys with low and medium oxygen contents can be subjected to deformation. The influence of the deformation temperature, strain and strain rate on the alloy´s plastic workability and structure has been determined. In the microstructure of the deformed alloy, effects are visible of the lamellar structure deformation as well as of dynamic recrystallization.
