This paper deals with certain issues connected with the generation of charging prescripts for four-high 3.5 rolling mill: it defines the decisive impact of the charging prescript set up in an optimum way, presents the solution created in the company VÍTKOVICE STEEL, a.s., fully supported by software applications in Metallurgical production computer control system, sums up the advantages of the described solution, points out areas for future improvement and proposes an expert planning system as the meansof this improvement.
