Electrochemical corrosion studies of steels after plasma nitridation and oxidation
Original language description
Carbon and low alloyed steels were plasma nitrided for 8 and 20 hours in a nitrogen (N2) + hydrogen (H2) gas atmosphere (H2:N2 rate was 1:3 - 8 l/h H2 and 24 l/h N2) at 500 °C under a pressure of 2,8 mbar and oxidised for 1 hour at 500 °C under a presure8 to 9 mbar and their electrochemical corrosion behaviour was investigated by potentiodynamic polarization tests in 0,1M NaCl and 0,05M Na2SO4 solutions to estimate the influence of different heat treatment..
