Composition, structure, and luminescence of montmorillonite saturated with different aggregates of methylene blue

  • Original language description

The distribution of various aggregates (dimmers, trimers and tetramers) of methylene blue (MB) formed in aqueous solution at various concentrations of dye has been calculated using the equilibrium aggregation constants ?q. Two montmorillonite samples with different cation exchange capacities, surface areas, and interlayer distances d001, Na-Swy, and Ca-Cheto, were saturated with methylene blue (MB) solutions with various ratios between monomers and higher aggregates of dye. The total amount of MB in theintercalated montmorillonite samples (MB-SWy a MB-Cheto) increases with increasing concentration of dye in water solution, i.e., with increasing aggregates/monomers ratio of MB in water solution. In all intercalated montmorillonite samples with methylene blue expect guest qth aggregate cations low content of Na+ in (MB-SWy) and Ca2+ (in MB-Cheto) cations were also determined. A very good positive correlation between the basal spacing d001 and the MB/montmorillonite molar ration was reve

Stavba, struktura a luminescene montmorillonitů nasycených různými agregáty metylenové modře

  • Czech description

Využitím rovnovážné agregační konstanty ?q byla stanovena distribuce různých agregátů (dimérů, trimérů a tetramérů) metylénové modři, které se formují ve vodném roztoku při různé koncentraci barviva. Danými roztoky metylénové modře (MB) s rozdílným poměrem mezi monomery a vyššími agregáty barviva, byly syceny dva vzorky montmorillonitu, Na-Swy, a Ca-Cheto s rozdílnou kapacitou výměny kationů, měrným povrchem a mezivrtsevnou vzdáleností d001. Celkové množství MB v interkalovaném vzorku motnmorillonitu (Na-Swy a Ca-Cheto) roste s rostoucí koncentrací barviva ve vodném roztoku, tj. s rostoucím poměrem agregát/monomer MB v vodném roztoku.
