    The paper is focused on clarification of context related to loss of basic oxidic component of ceramic filter at filtration of molten steel. It was established during previous experiments that on the surface of holes of ceramic filters there occurs duringfiltration decrease of material of basic component in ceramics and that slag layer was formed on the surface of capillaries in the course of filtration of steel, which influences these changes. It was found that this loss of basic oxide of ceramics is function of product of Gibbs energy of the relevant oxide and its concentration. The bigger is this product, the smaller is the loss of the ceramic oxide.
