Optimization of Finish Rolling of the Transformer Steel in the Hot Strip Mill of Steckel Type
Original language description
Hot strip rolling of the transformer steel in the two-stand mill of Steckel type was simulated by laboratory and by torsion tests. The main attention was paid to the evaluation of the influence of the finish rolling conditions on the structural properties of the strip. With regard to microstructures of strips, the very good conformity of results obtained by rolling in the operational and laboratory conditions was manifested. Again, the laboratory hot rolling in the advanced experimental equipment provedvery effective, particularly thanks to flexibility in changing the thermomechanical conditions of testing. The mobile furnaces, simulating the operational "furnace coilers", the simplified cooling of the rolled stocks by water spraying and the new system of continuous measurement of surface temperatures by two high-speed temperature scanners proved very well in these simulations.
