Microstructural analysis of high manganese alloy
Original language description
The work deals with microstructural analysis of the high manganese TWIP alloy after four heat treatments (HT). The alloy was cast, homogenized at the 1200°C/4h/water and forged into the final bars with 12 mm in diameter being the start material (A-variant). Further, three followed HT were carried out: 1150°C/3h/air (B-variant), 1150°C/3h/water (C-variant) and 1150°C/3h/water + 550°C/4h/air (D-variant). Micro-hardness HV0.2 showed the highest level in the under surface areas (US) in comparison with the central areas (CA) and after the A-variant. The determined austenite grain size was generally coarser in the CA. The calculated stacking fault energy corresponded to 22.2 mJ.m-2at ambient temperature. The X-ray analysis did not revealed -martensite both in the US and in the CA. The austenite matrix demonstrated TWIP effect. At ambient temperature the tensile tests of the A- and B variant were carried out.
