Physical-mechanical Properties of Single Crystals of Low-alloyed Tungsten and Molybdenum Alloys
Original language description
This paper deals with the influence of alloying elements and technology on structural and physical-mechanical properties of low-alloyed tungsten and molybdenum single crystals W-Mo, W-Ta, Mo-Ta, Mo Nb prepared by the methods of plasma metallurgy and electron beam zone melting and/or by the duplex method. The light optical microscopy and X-ray Berg-Barrett topography methods were used for the determination of structural perfection and character, dimensions and angular disorientation of sub-grains in single crystals. The ultrasound method developed at the G.V. Kurdyumov Institute for Metal Physics, N.A.S.U. in Kiev was used for the determination of physical and mechanical properties of the studied alloys. The measurements of longitudinal and transversalspeeds of ultrasound in major crystallographic directions [100], [110], [111] and density of single crystal specimens were performed. Concentration dependences of crystal elastic coefficients, anisotropy factors, Young modulus and shear m
