Original language description
The investigation concerned the method of preparation of single crystal ingots of low-alloyed alloys on the base of tungsten and molybdenum directly from tungsten and molybdenum rods and wires of appropriate alloying metals, excluding the stage of pre-fusion of the components in an arc furnace, which is more economical than the traditional method. In this way ingots were prepared from the following alloys of binary systems: W?Mo, W?Ta, Mo?W, Mo?Nb, Mo?Ta, the content of the above alloying elements was about 1.5 wt.% each. The preparation of source material and modes of plasma-arc melting (for single crystals of alloys on the base of tungsten) and electron beam zone melting (for single crystals of alloys on the base of molybdenum) is described. Structural parameters and perfectness of the obtained single crystals were investigated using X-ray topography, the back-reflection Laue method and light optical microscopy.
