Plasticity Response of Two Microalloyed Steels With Different Mo Content
Original language description
The work deals with plasticity (RA-reduction of area) of two low carbon microalloyed steels with different Mo and N contents and Ti additions. In the studied temperature range of 600-1350 st. C various RA levels were detected. Material with higher Mo, lower Ti and higher N contents showed minimal RA of 35 %, whereas the RA of the second material (B reached at least 3 %. Material A showed finer grain size and often intragranular acicular ferrite morphology unlike the material B, where polygonal ferrite and more noticeable allotriomorphic ferrite decoration of the primary austenitic grains were detected. Discrepancies of RA responses are explained by the differences of grain size, portion of non-metallic particles and Mo contents. Molybdenum makes the microstructure finer, suppresses the Ar3 temperature and it is the reason of ferrite strengthening, consequently more homogeneous plasticity of the formed microstructure.
