The Czech Republic represents a country with a developed steel industry which constitutes a basic for advanced machine engineering High cost and environmental problems concerning the production of metallurgical coke lead to the development and implementation of alternative technologies, especially processes of smelting reduction and direct reduction. Hydrogen utilization from non-traditional alternative fuels is an ecological contribution for metalurgy in area of reduction of coke (fuels) specific consumption.
