    Presented article deals with a new method of primary protection of concrete surface by the mortar based on alkali activated granulated blast-furnace slag. Protective layer with the thickness of about approximately 5mm is in the form applied as the firstone and promtly after its compaction the layer of concrete is applied to the fresh mortar. By this method the construction joint is not riced and the perfect connection between the protective layer and concrete is achieved. The protective layer based onalkali activated slag reaches excellent values of adhesion on concrete and essentially advances the resistance of concrete against frost and salt treatment.
