Use of non-traditional alternative fuels, typical of the Moravian-Silesian region for Midrex technology, with a view to reducing the environmental burden
Original language description
Metallurgical coke is becoming worldwide more deficit and cost-demanding mean and source of heat energy for traditional pig iron production in blast furnaces. Fot this reason, it is necessary to be concerned with problems of pig iron production without using coke sufficiently beforehand. Some alternative method of iron production could be a solution both smelting and/or direct reduction (for example Midrex). These methods are able to replace a considerable part of metallurgical coke with more availableand cheaper fuels and power sources.
