Mechanical aloying of Ni3Al based alloy in hydrogen
Original language description
Hydrogen effect on the nickel aluminide powder after mechanical alloying was studied. Mixture of Ni and Al elemental powder with the nominal composition corresponding to Ni75Al25 (at.%) were milled in ball planetary mill under argon or hydrogen atmospheres. Mechanical alloying was performed with alloying time of 144 hours, milling speed of 220 rpm and ball-to-powder ratio 6:1. The first milling period was realized under argon and four others under hydrogen atmosphere. Milled samples were examined at different milling stages using a laser particle sizer, hydrogen determinator, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), EDS microanalysis and X-ray diffraction analysis to determine statistic distribution of powder particle size, hydrogen content, phase composition and crystallinity, respectively. Mean size after different periods of milling was dependent on the processes related to stages of mechanical alloying and it ranged from 135 to 96 m. EDS microanalysis and X-ray diffraction analysis of t
