CRACKING OF PISTOLS BARRELS
Original language description
Pistols are unique products with reference to their using. The safety is in this problem important factor also in case of sporting arms. A pistol barrel is one of more stressed construction parts. In consequence is important carefully studying its longevity. This paper deals and analyse possible reasons of cracking of concrete pistol barrels. Fatigue damage is occurred on these samples in gate area. The fracture initiate in section where the gunlock clip hold pistol barrel in gun frame. Two gun-barrel materials were compared. The steel 32CrMoV12-10 holds much lower shots than in the event material 34CrMoNi6. Hardness measurement, metallographic observations, electron microscopy documentation of fracture surfaces and GDS analysis of chemical compositionfor solution to this problem were used. Low cycle fatigue processes proving as source of this problem.
