Original language description
Wide scales of microalloyed steels are sensitive to internal defects, which occur during the continuous casting and/or ingot mold casting. In this paper, it is demonstrated importance of the proper soaking strategy. Defects free blooms may be heated using a wide scale of heating strategies. On the contrary, optimal choice of heating process is necessary in case when the internal defects are present. Unsuitable heating strategy is responsible for massive crack grow. Meanwhile, optimized heating strategylimits plastic deformation in the centre of the bloom, so the internal defects can be successfully welded during ultrasound inspection.
