Lost Cores and Methodology of Dissolution
Original language description
Lost cores based on inorganic salt are used in an elaborately shaped inner hollows of castings, which are made from non-ferrous metals. Especially Al - alloys, in which cores have to fulfill high requirements on the quality and purity of the casting surface after their removal. In addition to thermal and mechanical resistance during molding, cores have to withstand the conditions of atmospheric moisture during storage Above all, they have to guarantee the basic principle of salt cores, and a complete and residue-free removal from the hollow of the casting solution in water. This article is focused on laboratory method of core solubility in tested casting and solubility of separated cores. In this study we were also focused on the kinetics of dissolution of composite salts and expression of the dependence among the amount of dissolved salts in the solution, the electrical conductivity and pH
