Electrodeposition of the Calcium Phosphate Coatings on the Mg-Al-Zn Alloys Surfaces

  • Original language description

This paper deals with evaluation of dicalcium phosphate dihydrate (DCPD) thin layer formation on the surface of magnesium alloy AZ31 by electrodeposition and evaluation of corrosion properties of Mg-3Al-1Zn alloy surfaces after grinding and grinding followed by electrodeposition of DCPD. The electrodeposition cathodic treatment process was performed in water solution of Ca(NO3)2.4H2O, NH4H2PO4 and H2O2. The corrosion processes of untreated and treated specimens were evaluated by potentiodynamic polarization method with the usage of Tafel analysis at 37 ? 1 °C in 0.9% NaCl. Obtained results show, that DCPD surface layer on AZ31 magnesium alloy improves its corrosion properties and related application possibilities in human body.
