Original language description
Within the process of repairs associated with the maintenance of coke ovens it is necessary to assess the reliability of closing on coal and coke side of the battery. These are the most stressed parts of coke oven, and therefore they relatively often need replacement of linings, which are exposed to the risk of deposits of the coking process combustion products - primarily condensed aromatic hydrocarbons which are present in the coke-oven gas. Lining is waste, which was assessed in terms of its hazardous properties. The researchers conducted field sampling of the waste masonry and its analysis on the basis of which it was possible to conclude on classification of the considered waste within the appropriate category of waste: other (O) or dangerous (N).
