Polymeric Nanocomposite with Antibacterial and Antitumoral Particles
Original language description
The aim of this research work was to find out the suitability of selected polymeric matrices for the further studies of nanocomposites with antibacterial and antitumoral properties to use it in medicine. The selected for the study biodegradable triblock copolymers are polycaprolactone polyethylene glycol polycaprolactone (PCL-PEG-PCL) and polycaprolactone polyglycolic acid polycaprolactone (PCL-PGA-PCL) and as an antitumoral drug, Erlotinib was chosen. By means of molecular modeling, it was found that for both matrices, the bigger amount of drug is a reason of growing of cohesive energy density (CED). It means that the system is more stable having greater amount of drug. The case of polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polyglycolic acid (PGA) the data showed lower values of CED for PCL-PEG-PCL matrix the findings may indicate stronger interaction between Erlotinib and PGA than with PEG. This work is a first step for understanding the advantages and disadvantages of various materials for medical using.
