Design of blast furnance gutter lining
Original language description
The chosen assignment is solved by laboratory tests because the blast furnace environment is very variable, and this method can test the material before use in practice. Blast furnace runners are a system of channels conducting liquid metal and slag into mobile mixers and slag pots. Runners are strain both thermally and mechanically. Therefore, high demands are placed on refractory materials. Due to high consumption for individual applications (tons), the ratio between quality and price of materials plays an important role. Objectives should be achieved by performing static laboratory tests. These tests include compressive and flexural strength, water absorption, apparent porosity, true porosity, bulk density and density. Based on the laboratory tests carried out, the blast furnace design. With steel shell, chamotte bricks and a combination of refractory mixtures.
