Key factors influencing the dilatation of silica sands
Original language description
The dilatation of silica sands depends on many factors and their combinations. In this study, three silica sands with different grain sizes were evaluated: a 3D printing sand and two samples for conventional technology. The SEM, XRFS and sieve analysis results were correlated with the resulting dilatation. The findings proved the SiO2 content and sorting degree as factors affecting the dilatation, with the highest dilatation for 3D printing sand of 34.1 %.
