Current database systems apply to some degree elements of the object-oriented approach although the application of SQL language still prevails. The paper presents the possibilities of both relational and object-oriented approach within the database system Cache called by the InterSystems Corporation as a post-relational database. The object-oriented approach is enabled through the layers created over the multidimensional structure.
