The article is deal with the differences between cohesion regions at the Central European states and in Czech Republic, which are based on analyses area and population size. The paper describes territorial system the members of the European Union too. There are accented the differences between spatial units NUTS 2 of the other central European countries and cohesion regions in the Czech Republic.
