EU Trade in the Time of Financial Crisis
Original language description
The paper is focused on the European Union (EU) trade and trade policy in time of global financial and economic crisis. The analyze of export and import of the EU points out that the financial crisis had negative impact on the intra-EU as well as extra-EU trade in the period of 2007-2009 but differences among the EU member states have existed. Although the EU tries to support trade development in the world and remove barriers to trade, some protectionist tendencies were recorded in the time of the economic crisis. The last part of the paper shows on the EU trade policy and some trade measures which were the EU and its member states taken to support the trade development or vice versa to protect domestic industries. The results of the analyze show on the fact that although some protectionist tendencies were recorded in extra-EU trade as well as intra-EU trade, trade relations which are provided among member states are the most important all the time
