Original language description
The article deals with the issue of the use of business intelligence (BI) software in the segment of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Czech Republic (Moravia-Silesian Region). A similar situation as in the Czech Republic will also is be in Central Europe. Attention is paid mainly to the introduction of BI tools in SMEs. It is discussed the suitability of the SaaS in this type of segment. The results of the survey on ICT use to support decision-making in organizations of SMEs type in theMoravian-Silesian Region are also presented. Following the survey, the cooperation of academic and commercial sphere during the implementation and optimization of BI application in the form of SaaS is discussed.
