The purpose of a Business Intelligence (BI) system is to facilitate analysis of historical data on one side but also to provide effective means of capturing changes in key business dimensions contained in its multidimensional data models on the other side. This paper deals with an agile oriented data modeling technique ? the anchor modeling, and the analysis of its concept of historization. The historization is assessed in contrast with similar technique of handling changes in dimensions (SCD), commonlyapplied in the BI system that is traditionally based on classical star schemas. The results show that the historization has positive impact on physical attributes of the BI system?s database schema if it is eventually applied as a solution for handlingchanges in dimensions of a multidimensional model in terms of potential construction of the data model using principles of anchor data modeling.
