Decision-making deals with a large amount of attributes, factors and alternatives. strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis is universally known and used tool which examines strengths and weaknesses of particular entity together with opportunities and threats of the entity?s environment. In this paper, the authors focus on lack of determination of the importance ranking for the SWOT factors that is biased by the original point method. The paper deals with a combined approach to decision making using fundamentals of the SWOT analysis together with decomposition multiple attribute decision making (MADM) method of Analytic Network Process (ANP). The aim of the paper is to assess the SWOT-ANP approach to the strategic decision making process as a model that can be used by firms to enhance the effectiveness of strategic decision making processes. The model is illustrated on a case study of a mobile phone manufacturer.
