Original language description
The goal of this paper is to describe urban resilience concept and point attention to problematic applicability of the concept for post-industrial areas in transition economies. Basic notions relating to urban resilience concept are described in this paper. Paper focuses on specific characteristic of restructuring and transformation processes in post-industrial areas of Central Europe which forbid successful concept employing. Due to that, proofing validity of contention, that urban resilience concept has a limited applicability for post-industrial areas in transition economies is the main goal. Argumentation is mainly based on theoretical findings. In case study there are basic indicators interpreted in the context of the transformation to paint the picture of resilience in post-industrial cities of Central Europe.
