Original language description
This paper deals with urban resilience concept. The goal of this paper is to draw attention to problematic applicability of the urban resilience concept in the environment of post-industrial regions in transition economies. Concepts Resilience, urban resilience and urban economic resilience are described in detail and explained in the paper. The theoretical framework of the concept is followed by explanation of the transformation specifications in transition economies and emerging barriers to successfulconcept implementation. The second part of the paper focuses on resilience research for selected post-industrial cities of Central East Europe. Basic indicators interpreted in the context of the transformation are used for the resilience evaluation.
