Original language description
The paper deals with an alternative approach to quantitative evaluation of the regional development. The aim of the paper is to define and compare the level of socio-economic development of NUTS 2 regions in Visegrad Four countries in the year 2001 and 2010 by utilizing of the selected multicriteria decision-making methods. The sense of applying the multicriteria decision-making methods will be setting the rank and mutual positions of NUTS 2 regions reflecting their socioeconomic development and disparities between them. Using of quantitative multidimensional characteristics can lead to more precise evaluation of the socioeconomic development and development potential.
