The paper deals with the evaluation of the in-patient care technical efficiency interms of eight university hospitals in the Czech Republic. The aim of this paper is the evaluate the in-patient care technical efficiency of university hospitals of the Czech Republic covering years 2010 ? 2012 by the application of Data Envelopment Analysis model (see DEA model). The evaluation of the technical efficiency according to DEA model requires three input parametres: the number of physicians (full time equivalents), the average lenght of stay in days per the hospitalized patient, the cost per day of stay in hospital and two output parametres: the number of hospitalized patients, the hospital revenues from health insurance companies for the in-patient care.
