Original language description
This paper deals with the intra-industry trade among the EU28 countries and their main trade partners such as United States of America (USA), Japan and BRICS countries. The main goal of this paper is to examine which type of trade, based on sectoral composition, is ongoing among the main trading countries of the world economy. The intra-industry trade is measured by Grubel-Lloyds Index. Based on the Heckscher-Ohlin theory and Linder theory, the paper is looking for the difference between developed and developing countries' trade flows. There is examined trade among the EU28 members and USA and China. The results clearly show that the developed country, such as the EU, USA and Japan, trade is based on intra-industry trade, while trade among the developing countries and developed countries is inter-industry. The Heckscher-Ohlin theory was confirmed for trade between all EU28 countries and China. Linder theory applies to trade among EU15 countries and USA but surprisingly not for trade be
