Transparency of public administration is considered as one of the basics in requirements on increasing of quality, effectiveness and economy of administration at central and local level of government. Transparency is strongly supported by comfortable andopen access to information. It allows compliance of public interest and better public control. One adequate form which provides public access to information and greater transparency in decision-making is the usability of ICT in the public sector and e-government development. In this paper, there is analysed the application of the transparency principle at the local government level in the Czech Republic. The target is the offering and availability evaluation of information published through internet websites on the secondary level of local government, categorization of offered information and settings of indicative benchmarks for the research objectification.
