Microsoft Excel is the fundamental software tool of every economist and very often the only tool which the economist is capable to use. Although there are better business intelligence software tools for dimensional modeling for solving of business intelligence problems and Excel should be used maximally for creation of analyzes and reports, it can be used also in the other phases at least for teaching. This paper should demonstrate the use of Excel 2013 version for teaching of dimensional modeling fromdesign dimension tables and facts by entity-relationships diagrams to creating reports.
