Original language description
This article deals with the conception of the Czech literary canon in Englis speaking countries which the functions as a profile of Czech literature intended for foreign specialists in Czech studies as well as the general public. It focuses on Igor Hájek, a highly regarded literary critic and literary historian living in British exile after 1968, who played a very important role in the process of transmitting the Czech canon into the English speaking countries.
