Preparation of fine particles using a jet mill

  • Original language description

Increasing interest in recent years has focused on a variety of nanostructured materials with clearly defined particle size, with the anticipation, that their properties will be different from conventional material. For that reason were proposed following experimental methods for the particles preparation. In the contribution we present following results of optimization of the jet milling conditions applied for clays (in our study vermiculite) to get defined fraction less than 2 microns. By mean of distributions of particle size were defined the particles size fractions. The ground particles of vermiculite were studied using scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and X-ray diffraction.
