    Vermiculite is 2:1 planar hydrous phyllosilicate that can be applied in many technological processes. Due to its layered structure the vermiculite can be intercalated by organic cations that replace inorganic cations in the interlayer space.Similarly asmontmorillonite and other organoclays the organically modified vermiculite can be used for sorption of nonpolar organic compounds from waste water and gas etc.
