Sorption of Pb on magnetically modified biological materials
Original language description
Lead is a heavy metal, dangerous for the environment that occurs in soil and also in water and with the effects of raining and precipitation can be passed into wastewaters. Therefore, the content of Pb needs to be substantially reduced in wastewater. There are several methods to remove lead from wastewater using ion exchange resins, chemical precipitation, electroflotation and reverse osmosis. All these methods are generally expensive. Another method how to eliminate lead from in wastewater is sorption.Magnetically modified biological material - waste from preparation of peanut husks was developed. Prepared material was characterized by using scanning electron microscopy. The content of iron, particle size and specific surface area were determined. Studies were focused to the sorption properties of newly prepared materials. The efficiency in Pb sorption from water solution was investigated under defined dynamic conditions. The Pb concentration in solution after its interaction with te
